Sometimes it’s impossible to read about a film [apart from sneaking a Rotten Tomatoes %] before seeing it through a quite justified fear of spoiling the experience of watching it, but for me in this case, it’s o.k. I like Mike Lee’s work, and am confident from one frequently aired taster that it will be good. And more importantly, love Turner and have read about him so often. So it’s [1] the story is familiar right down to Ruskin [2] based on previous experience of Leigh I’m sure I won’t be let down cinematographically. Missed a recent showing at the local flick house, so it looks like a DVD. So it goes.


When I do see it, I will be concentrating on the ins and outs of bringing a life to film/adaptation, though Mr. Turner is not an adaptation. A post to come on The Imitation Game, which was.


The Rigi above seems as if digitisation has played a role in brightening the colours too much. Prefer the Tate’s version. Looking forward to seeing which painting have been included in the film. As yet can’t find a list.
